The Grand Traverse is a 40-mile backcountry ski race from Crested Butte to Aspen, crossing the Elk Mountains in the middle of the night. Teams travel together through the darkness, climbing more than 6,800 vertical feet along the way. Each year CB nordic commissions a poster to capture the character the race.

This was my second Grand Traverse poster, after first designing the race poster in 2022. For 2026, I drew inspiration from Bauhaus and European retro poster design aesthetics, building the composition around the iconic peaks along the route: Star Mountain, Teocalli, and Crested Butte, with a team of racers heading into the night. Along with the poster, deliverables included reduced design for stickers as well as a t-shirt for racers requiring the design to pair down to three colors to be produced as a screen print.
